The most frequently overlooked and ignored action when preparing for a trade show is actually inviting prospects and customers to stop by your booth. Sounds simple, right?

 Amazingly enough less than 20% of exhibitors actually invite prospects and customers to their booth BEFORE a show. When was the last time you went somewhere uninvited and felt wanted? Of course a trade show is a little different since your door is always open, but why have people just drop by when they can be made to feel important because you invited them?

 Since your salespeople aren’t using the leads from the last couple of trade shows why not put them to good use and bring them back for another look, only this time as an invited guest. Encourage your sales team to set appointments with their customers and have something special prepared for them. No matter how small the gesture, a cold beverage, a simple gift or even a special discount, anything that sets them apart and makes them feel wanted and special. Remember, your competition will be there trying to get them away from you.

 You will be surprised by the difference a simple reminder in the mail and a few follow up emails can make.
